Bees Place Second at Orchard Powerlifting Invite

The Bloomfield Powerlifting team competed at the Orchard Invitational on Saturday, April 5. The Bee lifters competed well and finished second overall out of 10 teams. Team scoring is calculated by individual placing; first place through fifth earn team points. The format is (first through fifth place) on a 7-5-3-2-1- basis. Lifters compete in the squat, bench press, and dead lift.
Teams competing were: Orchard(first place-57 points), Bloomfield (34 points), West Holt, Ewing, Burwell, Beatrice, Scribner-Snyder, Stanton, Nebraska Lutheran, and Elmwood-Murdock.
Six lifters competed for the Bees and each lifter placed in the top three in their respective weight categories. Morgan Kauth placed third at the 198 lb. weight class with a total of 724 lbs. lifted. Secong place finishes went to Jesse White at the 181 lb. class with a total of 772 lbs. lifted and Ben Lammers at the 242 lb. class with a total of 931 lbs. lifted.
Three lifters finished in first place in their weight divisions. Curtis Boschult won the 148 lb. class with a total of 722 lbs. lifted. Ethan Olander won the 198 lb. class with a total of 891 lbs. lifted, and Holliday Quezada won the 275 lb. class with a total of 980 lbs. lifted.
