11 FFA members attended PEAK(Pursuing Excellence and Knowledge) Conference at the Leadership Center in Aurora, NE. While attending they used fun activities to learn skills in developing personal relationships, leadership and community involvement. Students are divided up into age groups to participate in small "break-out sessions" and then brought back together for group activities. They also participated in recreational activities such as outdoor games, water olympics, and a dance (with dance lessons to learn the pretzel) one evening.
The conference is held at the Leadership Center at Aurora which is owned and operated by the Nebraska Vocational Agricultural Foundation. It is a modern twenty acre campground with cafeteria, swimming pool, gym, cabins and motel rooms.
The Bloomfield chapter students are able to attend this camp at no cost to them by using funds from the annual labor auction. All proceeds from the labor auction are used to send students to various leadership conferences throughout the year with no cost to them.
Those attending this year were Lexi Hauger, Lilly Nagengast, Jackie Young, Kara Bruns, Catherine Hanzlik, Rachel Dather, Joseph Dather, Melville Seagren, Trent Johnson, Brandon Lawyer and Cody Beckmann. These students with to thank all who participated in the labor auction to make this possible for them.
