Over 500 People Enjoy FFA Tailgate BBQ

October 14, 2009
There was a full house all evening long at the First Trinity Social Hall for the annual FFA tailgate BBQ this past Friday, October 9th. More than 500 people were served BBQ pork sandwiches, along with a variety of salads and deserts. After the football game, more than 50 football players and coaches from both the Bloomfield and Verdigre teams were fed also.
It all began on Wednesday when FFA students roasted and cut up eleven roasters full of pork roast to prepare it for the BBQ. Each student also brought an ice cream bucket full of an assigned salad and a pan of desert the night of the meal. It requires over 60 buckets of salad and more than 50 deserts to feed a crowd that size.
The FFA chapter wishes to thank all of the people who supported this activity by purchasing a ticket and joining us for the meal. We offer special thanks to all of the parents who helped prepare and serve the meal. It would be very difficult to accomplish this without their help. Also we would like to thank the First Trinity congregation for allowing us to use their facilities on such a short notice.
Don’t forget the funnel cakes being served at the volleyball game Thursday, Oct 15th. We have been asked several times when we would be serving them, so please take advantage of this opportunity.
