Snow has put a damper on a lot of our activities this year, and STAR was no exception.  We finally rescheduled our district competition for February 10th and it went off without a hitch.  Bloomfield came home qualifying 8 groups for competition at FCCLA State in April.  The state qualifiers are : National Programs in Action Sr -David Bertschinger, Silas Oltjenbruns, and Tyler Brown; National Programs in Action Jr -Christa Castle and Grace Carhart; Teach and Train- Sara Lovejoy; Illustrated Talk Jr- Dominique Swanson, Chapter Service Display Jr-Emily Kersten and Ashley Fiedler, Consumer Issues -Jeff Bertschinger, Family Challenges & Issues-Abbie Luger, Sophie Jindra; and Parliamentary Procedure Written Test-Trent Johnson.  Four groups placed as runner up to state.  They are Interpersonal Communications-Anna Skroch, Karrah Johnson, Brooke Hopkins, Health and Wellness Jr.-Quinn O’Brien, Jeremy Ohlfest, Kane Fiedler; Illustrated Talk Jr-Anthony Arroyos & Aaron Millikan; Interior Design-Emma Wagner.  The following members received gold medals: Becca Broders, Kylie Abbenhaus; receiving Silver: Leanna Cayler, Grace Trenhaile, Katie Miller, Brianna Barlow, Zach Hamilton, Kara Bruns, Andrew Klintworth, Jonathon Klintworth, Brady Surface, Dylan Wilson, Colton Wilson, Nick Nipp, Autumn Luger, Bobbie Green, Mariah Fehringer, Jessica Sahagun, Hannah Seagren, Katy Yunker, Kalynn Barlow, Lexi Luger, Chelsea Braunsroth and receiving bronze: Jennifer Ohlfest, Sadie Wachter, Brenden Johnson, Brandon Lawyer, Conner Wilson, Logan Koertje, Colin Kemp.  We would like to say a special thank you to Caroline Oltjenbruns, Jeff Holtz, and Norma Ober for helping judge and to Sue Rohrer for helping chaperone.  Mrs. Runyon would like to emphasize that again our chapter was the best dressed. The students were the most professional looking chapter represented.  The boys all wore dress pants and shirts with ties and the girls wore knee length skirts with panty hose and professional blouses.  The school and community should be proud of these students and their accomplishments!
