Gym Project Well Under Way!
June 10, 2010
I would like to publicly thank Jason Hefner for coordinating crews and overseeing the projects of window removal and filling in and for the removal of the old gym floor in preparation for the new floor. Jason organized these efforts which not only saved close to $10,000 for floor removal costs only, but the efforts of the entire school board and all those that helped is a prime example of community pride and cooperation. The following individuals either helped in the window project, the flooring removal or both. Window removal and new construction were Joe Wilson, Jeff Fehringer, Jeff Abbenhaus, Phil Schroeder, Curt Mackeprang, Dustin Chancey, Kelly Drotzman - Scissors Lift. Individuals helping with the floor removal were Joe Wilson, Jeff Fehringer, Phil Schroeder, Mark Luger, Jim Dooley, Matt Kuchar, Duane Wilken, Kristi Hauger, Shelly Luger, Keith Koertje, Konnie Thiele, Bill Thiele, Colton Wilson, Alec Wilson, Dakota Burgerhoff, Chet Beckmann, Joe Abbenhaus, Tyler Abbenhaus, Autumn Luger, Mike Houska, Eric Miller, Steve True and Jeff True. Dustin Chancey, also use of Carhart Lumber fork lift to move the floor. Darrel Fehringer also spent a lot of time cleaning the concrete after removal of the flooring. The flooring project is possible due to a very generous donation by the late Dr. Nagengast. Plans are to have various fund raisers to help replace some of the funds used from this donation for future uses.*__* I would like to personally thank Kelly Drotzman and Carhart Lumber Company for their donations of equipment to make the jobs considerably easier. If anyone was inadvertently left off of the lists of volunteer workers for either project, we sincerely apologize and will make corrections in future news articles. At some point in time, there will be pictures on the school website for your viewing.----Bob Marks
