FCCLA held its end of the year banquet on Sunday April 28 th . The evening began with a wonderful meal catered by Vicki Ketelsen and crew. We then enjoyed a year in review slide show prepared by Lily Nagengast, VP of Records. The chapter recognized many individuals for their accomplishments and thanked various individuals for their support of the FCCLA chapter. The chapter recognized individuals for participation in the FCCLA STAR Competition, and congratulated Ashley Fiedler, Dominique Swanson, Laura Nagengast and Kristin Thompson for qualifying to compete at the National STAR Competition to be held in Nashville TN in July. Student-athletes who are juniors or seniors could be nominated. Nominees must carry a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.5 or better on a 4.0 scale and be a varsity starter. The Journal Star staff evaluated each nomination, weighing factors relating to both athletic and academic achievement. Therefore, it is possible for a nominated student-athlete to qualify for Academic All-State in one sport but not another.

The Nebraska School Activities Association (NSAA) is pleased to announce the student recipients of the Spring 2013Nebraska Chiropractic Physicians Association (NCPA) Academic All-State Awards. Since 2006 this NSAA Award Program has recognized students who meet the criteria for nomination by their school in the season of their activity.
Each year the NSAA and the NCPA recognize students during Fall, Winter and Spring Seasons who are nominated by their schools for their individual academic excellence(3.70 GPA minimum), leadership and significant contributions in their NSAA activity.
