The Bloomfield High School Agriculture and Family Consumer Sciences departments will be hosting the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Beef Extension Educators for a meat cutting demonstration on Wednesday, February 15th at 11:00am in the FCS room at the high school. The public is invited to attend. At this function you will learn about fabrication of the chuck roll through a cutting demonstration, learn about the extra value these cuts bring to a beef carcass, and taste test the cuts and learn about recipes and resources to better utilize them. The annual spell down was held Wednesday morning, January 25th, in the M.P.R. of the elementary school. Michaela Johnson was pronounced the winner in the 5th grade competition and Reece McFarland was the winner in the 6th grade. Michaela is the the daughter of Jamie and Mike Johnson and Reece is the son of Carrie and Jody McFarland. Runners-up for the contest were Marissa Dahlberg from 5th grade and Taylor Reineke from 6th grade.

Please come join the Bloomfield Music program for our Pop’s Concert at 7:30 PM on Tuesday February 7 th . This concert will be filled with music ranging from the classic, “Carry On Wayward Son,” by the group Kansas, to today’s Katy Perry song, “Firework.” The students are particularly excited about this concert due to the selection of popular music and their own investment into what the concert will become.
