The Bloomfield High School Agriculture and Family Consumer Sciences departments will be hosting the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Beef Extension Educators for a meat cutting demonstration on Wednesday, February 15th at 11:00am in the FCS room at the high school. The public is invited to attend. At this function you will learn about fabrication of the chuck roll through a cutting demonstration, learn about the extra value these cuts bring to a beef carcass, and taste test the cuts and learn about recipes and resources to better utilize them. The Photographer's Forum, pfmagazine.com , hosts a winter high school/college photography competition. BHS junior, Grace Carhart, submitted two pictures for consideration. The contest officials separate the submitted photos into categories and they are judged by elite photographers. Of over 58,000 pictures submitted from around the world, one of Grace's made it into the finalist group. All of the finalist photos are published in a book. There are first through fourth place awards and 100 Honorable Mention awards.
