Due to some electrical problems in the remodeling process at the high school, the computer check out days have been changed. We will be available for check out on August 9th from 8 AM-7 PM and on August 12th from 8 AM-4 PM. During these times, students will also be able to make schedule changes. Boot camp/orientation for 7th graders and any new students will be on August 12th from 6 PM-8 PM. For parents and students that do not come on either of those two days, you will be able to come and check out your computers on August 15th between 3:45-5:00. Congratulations to the boys and girls track and field squads for their 4th place and runner-up finishes in Friday's district D-3 track and field meet. Those qualifying for state were: Trenton Holz 2nd in the 200, Bree Eisenhauer 1st in the 3200, 2nd in the 1600; Ella McFarland 1st in pole vault, 2nd in 3200; and Alexandra Eisenhauer 2nd in 100, 100HH and 300LH. The state meet will be held this Friday and Saturday at Burke Stadium in Omaha. All of the qualifiers will compete on Friday with Ella and Bree also having events on Saturday as well as those that qualify for finals.

The Bloomfield-Wausa golf team competed in the Niobrara-Verdigre Cougars golf invite on Wednesday, May 1. The meet was held at Rolling Hills Country Club in Wausa due to the flooding in Niobrara. The meet was host to 8 teams. It was a very competitive meet with 4 teams finishing with 5 strokes for the overall title. Neligh-Oakdale tied with Boyd County for first place with a team score of 363. The Bloomfield-Wausa team tied with Orchard-Clearwater for third with a team score of 368. Individually, Mitchell Mackeprang earned runner-up honors with a score of 80, which was one stroke out of first place. Derek Gillilan finished in 5th place with a score of 85. The team competes in the Randolph invite on Monday, May 6.

The Plainview Country Club hosted the Lewis & Clark Conference Meet on Monday, April 29. There were 10 teams that competed on the cold and windy day. The Bloomfield-Wausa golf team struggled throughout the day and finished in 4th place overall. Individually, Mitchell Mackeprang tied for 9th by shooting a 93 and ultimately placed 10th overall after losing on the first hole of a playoff. Derek Gillilan finished in 11th with a score of 95. The team plays Wednesday in the Niobrara-Verdigre Invite at Rolling Hills Golf Course.

The Bloomfield-Wausa Golf Team traveled to the Pierce Invite on Saturday. The boys braved the harsh weather conditions of 30 mph wind and 23 degree wind chills. The tournament was shortened to nine holes due to the weather. The team put together a great effort and finished in 4th place as a team, only 9 strokes out of 1st place. Mitchell was the runner-up finisher individually. Derek Gillilan placed in 5th place and Jon Nissen was 16th. Congratulations!

The Bloomfield/Wausa golf team competed at the Osmond Invitational Golf Tournament on Thursday, April 18. On a cold & breezy day, the team met the challenges of the course and mother nature head on. After one round of play, B/W had a one stroke lead on Boyd County and 4 strokes on Clearwater-Orchard. The boys battled to the end, but ended up falling short of the victory. The Bloomfield/Wausa golf team finished with runner-up honors in the team standings. The team shot a total score of 376, which was edged out by Clearwater-Orchard's score of 373. Individually, Jon Nissen placed 9th with a score of 97. Derek Gillilan shot an 89, which placed him in 5th. Mitchell Mackeprang shot a front nine score of 46 and improved to a 41 on the back nine for a total of 87. Mitchell finished in third place.

The Bloomfield/Wausa golf team traveled to Highland Oaks golf course in Ponca on Monday, April 15. It was a beautiful day to golf. After the completion of 18 holes, the team earned a runner-up finish to Lutheran High Northeast. Bloomfield/Wausa shot a team score of 375 to LHNE's score of 369. Individually, Mitchell Mackeprang earned a 3rd place finish shooting an 85 and Derek Gillilan earned a 5th place finish with an 86. Other members golfing were Jon Nissen (98), Michael Vanness (106), & Will Hagge (115). The boys competed extremely well for competing in their first invite of the season. The team's next action is Thursday at Rolling Hills Country Club in the Osmond Invite and then Monday in a make-up of the Plainview Invite

On Monday April 8 and Tuesday April 9, the Bloomfield FCCLA chapter competed in STAR at the Nebraska FCCLA State Leadership Conference in Lincoln. Thirty-one members made the trip to compete against 9 other schools. Bloomfield did an outstanding job with twenty-seven competing.
